She's from a very poor and outdated mountainous area in Hunan province. And in 2022, she scored very high in the college examination in China. but instead of choosing a very popular major, she chose to get in the field of archaeology. And at that time, a lot of people in China and the netizens have doubted her choice.

They might think that this kind of archaeology is a cold major and without much prospects. However, after this girl graduated from university, she entered the field of the Dunhuang Research Academy. So now let's go to this Dunhuang grotto. As we all know, there are a lot of beautiful mural paintings in Dunhuang. However, they are suffering from the erosion of the harsh weather.

Decades ago, there are teams of researchers, for example, the pioneer like Fan Jingshi professor, and these teams have devoted into the preservation of these mural paintings. At that time, they did not have this kind of advanced instruments, so they have to use their eyes and hands to observe these mirror paintings and turn them into a kind of preservation projects. However, their devotions and their recordings have laid a foundation for the future generations to catch forward this kind of innovation.

And nowadays, this research team have the members for more than 100 people, including innovators just like Zhong Fang Rong. This team has youngsters as researchers with the average age under 35 years old, and they come from different fields, for example, like archaeology, photography, computer science, animation, et cetera.

And they are the ones who are turning this kind of heritage into VR experiences so that they can be, we can have this kind of immersive experience on digital platforms so everyone can have a very close experience towards the beauty of Chinese heritage.
