And now let's proceed to China's story. Who will tell the story? Please step forward. And you may start whenever you're ready. Gender equality has always been a heated topic discussed globally. And what reminds me is in the 2030 agenda in the United Nations, mentioning the quote, leave no one behind. It is in these international communities that we noticed the vulnerabilities, the vulnerables that are the most people we need to care about.
And in this digital society, what measures could we do to help these vulnerables? It actually offered a very great platform for those women and for those religions to learn about what kind of skills they could master. And about women-relative stories, mastering a skill, I would like to talk about my mom, a 58-year-old woman who had retired for three years but still working as a monitoring assistant in our community.
Actually, for the monitoring assistant, the government required them to get a certificate And for my mom, the only test before this certificate she got is the driver's lessons, which is somehow easy. And when she started learning this certificate, she's already 45 years old, I guess, and she started to take down notes from the online courses day and night.
And while she was doing that, we would wonder, as a retired woman, you get money, you get time, why do you not travel to other places? She was actually motivated and inspired by an online video that quote, a woman who retired with no jobs and hobbies will suffer a bitter life. Therefore, she would like to master a new skill to start her individual life again.
And when she was learning those courses, I was at the secondary schools, and we sometimes learned together. And she would like taking down notes and reciting those sentences, around my ear, repeating it one after another. And I was wondering, why? Like, it's very simple steps you could understand, but I could not stand in her shoes that actually it is very difficult for her to recite those sentences and understand the knowledge points. But she never gives up, because she believed that it is this kind of process that could improve her own ability and live her own life. In these international societies, the digital communities and the social apps has offered us a great and tremendous opportunity to improve your own skills. And what truly matters is not the opportunities provided, but rather making them realize they are important
also. Then to be involved in this international society and to keep updated, keep the pace with the trend, so could they have a happier life. And we should show more caring and respect to them, to let them know they could be a part of the society
